1. Short is Sweet
Few people will go on social media to read an essay. In fact, the majority scroll right past the longest posts on Facebook. With this in mind, if you’ve got something you want to say, it’s got to be short, snappy and relevant. Too long a post can just dilute the point you’re actually trying to make, so ensuring that what you are posting is appropriate will save you a lot of time as well as keeping people interested. Remember, this is social media, so informal and conversational language works best especially on Facebook and Twitter. Social media is there to create relationships that can be mutually beneficial. Make sure you are sharing, retweeting or linking relevant posts from various other people, organisations and websites. Building bridges creates a strong social media reputation, which in turn, helps to attract more people to your recruitment agency. If you can network with someone with a lot of followers, likes or links then they will expose you to hundreds, even thousands, more potential candidates. Equally, networking with experts in the field with something interesting or beneficial to say can certainly add a feather to your bow.

Spend any time at a news organisation or magazine and they will tell you timing is key when posting on social media websites. Such places spend hours sifting through the stats on when most people visit social media and post accordingly. Generally speaking, the ideal time is usually around the morning or evening commute and sitting in front of the TV after a hard day’s work. A well-timed post can be the difference between a successful post and a flop, but more importantly it is these small details that can boost your social media reputation to new heights.
However, it is not just about knowing when to post, it’s also doing it regularly that will keep you on top of the social media game. That doesn’t mean just posting for the sake of it to ensure you are regularly posting. But if you are frequently on social media at peak times, people will begin to pay attention.
