How to Get Organised Across Different Time Zones

Written by Lisa Jones | Tue, May 26, 2015

So you’re an international jet-setter-playboy/girl or just a plain old busy recruiter juggling your workload, social media and CRM over multiple time zones.  Are you the Marty McFly of the recruitment world in a DeLorean bending time? #BTTF

“Time circuit’s on… Flux Capacitor… Fluxing… Engine running.  All right!”

You need to be super organised, be a human clock and be on time for online meetings and phone calls with your lovely international talent and clients. Interviews have never been easier with video conferencing and great systems like Sonru and Launchpad – but you’ll get nowhere if you’re not on time.

”Great Scott!”

I’ve created a short video to show you lovely recruiters a couple of cute tools to get you more organised with time zones and your international hot dates!

“If my calculations are correct, when this baby hits eighty-eight miles per hour... you're gonna see some serious s**t.”

Here are a couple of facts about time zones:

  • Did you know that GMT (Greenwich Mean Time) came from the fact that us British had more ships and shipping in the 1800s that at the 1884 International Meridian Conference in Washington DC they decided that the meridian line should go through that lovely Greenwich Observatory?
  • There are between 24 and 25 different time zones – scientists love to argue!
  • Some crazy cats out there have half hour time zones (Iran, Sri Lanka, India, some parts of Australia!)
  • And did you know that the International Space Station uses GMT?

Check out the video and let me know if you have any more great tips for managing your time internationally.
